Brief Overview: The Wolverhampton School of Art was opened as the College of Art and part of the Wolverhampton Polytechnic. Constructed generally of in situ reinforced concrete with an exposed rough boardmarked finish. Precast concrete frames with granite aggregate are hung on the outside faces with a deep recess to control the light levels of internal spaces.
The concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
